We recommend you get guidance or advice to make sure you’re making the best decision for yourself.
The way you combine your pension pots, might work differently depending on which provider you’re with. Typically, you’ll need to contact the provider you wish to transfer all your pensions to. You may have to fill in a separate request for each pension pot you wish to transfer. They’re likely to ask for details such as your policy number, product type, and the current value of your pension pot.
It’s the responsibility of most pension providers to start the transfer and combining process. The time this takes to complete could vary. Your old provider(s) may also contact you to confirm some details.
Many people choose to go through the combining process via a financial adviser. However, if you choose to do it yourself, your provider must offer full details of any charges and, or loss of benefits you’ll incur when making changes. You'll be asked to confirm acknowledgement and approval of this before proceeding with a transfer request.
