From 31 March 2025, we’re updating the fund objective for the Aegon abrdn Global Sustainable and Responsible Investment Equity fund. The fund’s name is also changing to the Aegon abrdn Global Sustainable Equity fund.
We’re writing to those invested in the fund to let them know about these changes.
Nothing else about the fund will change because of this.
The changes in more detail
The underlying fund manager, abrdn, has updated the fund objective of the underlying fund to better reflect how the fund is managed. The fund name is also being updated.
The fund objective explains how the fund invests and what it’s trying to achieve for investors.
To make sure our version of the fund matches the underlying fund, we’re updating it.
There are more details in the table below, with the changes to the fund objective highlighted:

New fund objective |
---|---|
The fund aims to grow capital over the long term (five years or more), targeting a return in line with the MSCI AC World Index, plus 3% per year over rolling three-year periods (before charges) by investing at least 70% of the portfolio in the shares of international companies around the world which adhere to abrdn’s Sustainable and Responsible Investment Equity Approach. The manager chooses companies on the basis of thorough fundamental company analysis and ethical and socially responsible criteria. The fund may also use derivatives for the purpose of efficient portfolio management. The Aegon fund has higher charges than the underlying abrdn fund and will therefore be less likely to meet this target. |
The fund aims to grow capital over the long term (five years or more), targeting a return in excess of the MSCI AC World Index (after charges), by investing at least 70% of the portfolio in the shares of international companies around the world which align to abrdn’s sustainability approach. The manager chooses companies that manage adverse environmental impacts and promote societal welfare in one or more of the following: climate change, the environment, labour management, and human rights & stakeholders. |

There’s no guarantee the fund will meet its objectives. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise and is not guaranteed. Investors could get back less than they pay in.
Investors will start to notice the name change on their online account, plan statement, in our literature and on our website from 31 March 2025 onwards. We’ll update our literature and our website as soon as we can, but investors may notice both the old and new information in use for a time, for example on our fund factsheets.
What current investors need to do
Existing investors don’t need to do anything.
