Aegon has today announced that Nick Roy has been appointed as Commercial Director, a new senior leadership role within the business.

Nick Roy has worked with Aegon for over 20 years and has held several senior roles, most recently as Director, Client and Partnership Development.

In this new role, Nick Roy will continue to lead the workplace channel and drive the growth of the DC business. He will continue to report to Chief Distribution Officer, Ronnie Taylor.

Ronnie Taylor said: “As we continue to drive forward our transformation of Aegon into a leading digital savings and retirement platform, Nick coming into this new role accelerates the momentum.

“Just last month the announcement of Aegon’s intention to partner with the British Business Bank highlights our capabilities, as we offer workplace savers access to innovative investment opportunities that have previously been not possible via DC pensions.

“Nick has the understanding, experience and capability to ensure the delivery of Aegon’s ambitions and ensure we continue to meet and exceed the expectations and demands of our members, employers and advisers.”

Nick Roy said: “I’m honoured to take on this new role. Leading our workplace business – with an ambitious and customer focused team around me - over the past year has been highly rewarding as we’ve surpassed so many targets.

“The propositional delivery over the past 12 months alone has been substantial. Our award-winning collaboration with The Pension Lab delivering an innovative solution to workplace members to help them track down and compare old pots, the significant enhancements to our Member Insights for employers helping them better understand their employees’ savings needs, and of course the ongoing digital enhancements to the customer experience has moved our offering into a premier position.

“But there is so much more still to do to improve pension scheme members outcomes. 2025 will be a year of delivery and growth as we build on Aegon’s top three workplace position through enhanced proposition and personalised customer engagement.”
